Download the 3-Week Holiday Card Bootcamp

So it’s the beginning of November and you haven’t started thinking about holiday cards. Not to worry—you can still do this!

Just because I run a snail mail business doesn’t mean I buy cards early.

On the contrary, every year I buy cards to take advantage of post-Thanksgiving sales on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Card companies are working fast so things print and ship quickly. In fact, my holiday cards are usually in the mail roughly two weeks after turkey day. And, I can almost always hit my magic mail date: December 10. While it’s true I work on my holiday cards a little bit all year round, I understand the season can sneak up on you.

My 3-Week Holiday Card Bootcampt is designed for the month of November.

The goal is to get you organized fast. I want you to hit “purchase” on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Follow my six-step plan and we’ll get this done together. For step-by-step instructions, download the checklist!

Here’s an overview of the 3-Week Holiday Card Bootcamp:

    1. Mailing List:

Don’t be fooled, a mailing list is THE most time consuming part of mailing holiday cards. If your addresses aren’t easily accessible, chances are you’ll mail things late. Unless you get joy from hand lettering or you love the look of your cursive, I encourage my clients to take advantage of digital address printing. It’s usually free and it will help you get your holiday cards in the mail fast. The best way to do that? Mail merge format, baby! Plug your info into my spreadsheet and you’ll be ready to upload.

    2. Card Type:

You have three decisions to make about card type--format, content, and size. I’ll walk you through each one. Knowing what you want before you shop will help avoid decision fatigue and design overwhelm.

    3. Photos (optional):

If you’re sending a photo card, selecting photo options ahead of time will help you focus your shopping. And no, you don’t need to use photos from a professional photographer.

    4. Shop:

After completing your (very fun!) homework, you’ll have a shopping list to use on retail sites.

    5. Draft:

Mock up your favorite designs and save your top three drafts with the card company.

    6. Purchase:

When you see the Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals land in your inbox, you’ll be ready to go.
